Wreaths Across America New Britain
Remember. Honor. Teach.
THIS YEAR’S EVENT: DECEMBER 16, 2023
Wreaths Across America is a national non-profit organization founded in 2007 to continue and expand the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery begun by Maine businessman Morrill Worcester in 1992. WAA’s mission – Remember, Honor, Teach – is carried out in part by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington and at veterans cemeteries and other locations in all 50 states.
Wreaths Across America New Britain is one of those proud local projects. Since 2014, DAV Hardware City Chapter 8 has taken the lead in coordinating, with the support of the City of New Britain, a large Planning Committee of volunteers from Greater New Britain’s business, non-profit and veterans service organization communities and the community at large, the placement each December of more than 1,200 holiday wreaths at the City’s historic Fairview Cemetery honoring those City sons and daughters no longer with us who sacrificially served our nation.
DAV Hardware City Chapter 8 expresses its deepest gratitude to all those who make this special annual event possible. We invite you use the links on this page to support the cause by buying a wreath, making a donation, becoming a sponsor and/or supporting our various fundraising events so that we may continue this tradition every year for decades to come.
