Proceeds to Sustain Annual Commemorative Wreath Placements on Veteran Gravesites each December at Fairview Cemetery

New Britain, Conn., April 9, 2026 – The annual Wreaths Across America of New Britain (WAANB) effort to fund and coordinate placement of some 1,400 commemorative wreaths on veteran gravesites at New Britain’s Fairview Cemetery each December kicks off Wednesday, May 6, with the Disabled American Veterans Hardware City Chapter 8’s Annual Pasta Dinner Fundraiser at VFW Post 511 in New Britain.

More than 300 supporters are expected at the event, which takes place from 5-8 p.m. and is open to the public. Online tickets, at $20 per person or $160 for a table of eight, are available at www.davchapter8.org. Walk-ins will be accepted only as space allows.

Ticket and table buyers are encouraged to purchase early to ensure their place at one of the city’s largest annual charity events.

The Pasta Dinner and annual WAANB Project is coordinated annually by DAV Chapter 8 and a large Planning Committee of volunteers from Greater New Britain’s business, non-profit and veterans service organization communities. The committee aims to raise more than $20,000 each year. The goal is to raise dollars on a continual basis to safely ensure that the WAANB tradition at Fairview Cemetery, which takes place this year on December 19, happens not just this year, but every year to come ad infinitum.

The Pasta Dinner at the VFW (41 Veterans Drive, New Britain), is a family-friendly event (children under 12 are free with adult admission). Dinner features pasta with DAV 8 Commander Dennis Taricani’s famous sauce, meatballs, salad, dessert and music.

The event will also feature a premium raffle, including a 50/50 raffle.
